We respect the privacy of our customers and seek to collect and use personal information only for legitimate and identified business purposes. Where applicable, we process personal information in accordance with Canadian privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and applicable data-protection laws such as the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Aircraft Reports, we may collect information such as:

  • name and contact information;

  • email address;

  • billing and transaction information;

  • account information and login details;

  • order history and purchased products;

  • information you provide when contacting customer support;

  • IP address and certain technical information about your browser, device and interaction with the website; and

  • information collected through cookies or similar technologies used to operate and understand the website.

We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • process and fulfill orders;

  • provide access to purchased digital products;

  • maintain customer accounts;

  • send order confirmations, download information and other transactional communications;

  • respond to customer questions and provide support;

  • maintain and improve the operation, security and performance of the website;

  • understand general website usage and improve the customer experience;

  • prevent fraud, misuse and unauthorized activity; and

  • comply with legal, accounting, regulatory or other applicable obligations.

We do not use customer information for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes for which it was collected without an appropriate legal basis or consent where required.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Where the GDPR or another law requiring a specific legal basis applies, we may process personal information on the basis of:

  • Performance of a contract — for example, processing an order and providing a purchased product;

  • Legal obligations — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable legal, accounting or regulatory requirements;

  • Legitimate interests — such as maintaining website security, preventing fraud and improving our services, where those interests are not overridden by applicable privacy rights; and

  • Consent — where consent is required for a particular use of personal information.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent where applicable.

4. Service Providers

Aircraft Reports uses third-party services that help us operate the website and provide our services.

BigCommerce

Aircraft Reports uses BigCommerce as its e-commerce platform. BigCommerce supports functions including the online store, customer accounts, shopping cart, checkout, order processing and related store operations.

Information required to provide these services may therefore be processed through BigCommerce.

Stripe

Aircraft Reports uses Stripe for payment processing.

Payment and transaction information may be processed by Stripe in connection with a purchase. Aircraft Reports does not require customers to provide complete payment-card information directly to Aircraft Reports for the purpose of processing a card transaction.

Stripe may process payment and transaction information in accordance with its own privacy practices and applicable legal requirements.

Google Analytics

Aircraft Reports uses Google Analytics to obtain general information about how visitors use the website and to help us understand website performance and improve the customer experience.

Analytics information may include information about visits, pages viewed, general device or browser information and other usage information made available through the analytics service.

5. Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information.

Personal information may be disclosed to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Aircraft Reports, process transactions, provide services, maintain security or perform other functions described in this Policy.

We may also disclose personal information where required or permitted by applicable law, including in response to valid legal processes or lawful requests from competent authorities.

Where personal information is processed by third-party service providers, Aircraft Reports remains responsible for personal information under its control and takes reasonable steps to address privacy and security obligations applicable to those providers.

6. International Processing

Aircraft Reports serves customers internationally.

Because we use service providers whose operations may involve processing information in Canada, the United States or other countries, personal information may be processed outside the country in which a customer resides.

Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between jurisdictions. Where required by applicable law, Aircraft Reports will take appropriate measures in relation to international transfers and processing of personal information.

7. Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including:

  • completing and documenting transactions;

  • maintaining appropriate order and accounting records;

  • providing customer support;

  • maintaining customer accounts where applicable;

  • addressing disputes or security issues; and

  • meeting legal, regulatory or other legitimate business obligations.

When personal information is no longer reasonably required for these purposes, it will be deleted, destroyed or otherwise disposed of in accordance with applicable requirements and our practices.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Aircraft Reports and its service providers may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for website operation, account functions, checkout, security, analytics or other legitimate website purposes.

Cookies may allow the website to remember information, maintain sessions, understand general website usage and improve functionality.

Depending on the technology used and the jurisdiction involved, certain cookies or similar technologies may require consent.

You can manage or restrict cookies through your browser settings and, where applicable, through controls provided by the website.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on the law applicable to you, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you;

  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;

  • request deletion of personal information where legally applicable;

  • request restriction of certain processing;

  • object to certain processing;

  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and

  • request portability of personal information where that right applies.

These rights are subject to applicable legal limitations and exceptions.

To exercise a privacy right or ask a question about your personal information, contact us using the information provided below.

Canadian privacy principles include accountability, identifying purposes, limiting collection and use, safeguards, openness and individual access.

10. Security

Aircraft Reports takes reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we handle to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

No method of transmitting or storing information electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, website, technology, legal requirements or privacy practices.
